About Rashpal Singh Brar
Rashpal Singh Brar is an engineer with more than 20 years of experience as an electrical engineer in municipal utilities in California, and seven years of experience as a project manager at shipyards. After receiving his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mr. Brar started his career as an Assistant Electrical Engineer at a California municipality, quickly moving to the rank of Electrical Engineer. Early in his career Rashpal Brar learned to support electrical substations through preparing electrical load calculations, drawings, and cost estimates. Soon he took on the responsibility of the design, construction, and maintenance of electrical substations.
As a project manager for electrical substation construction and maintenance, Rashpal Singh Brar was responsible for strategic planning for 10 years of a municipality’s electrical needs. This required analyzing load and cost, then planning for construction and preparing Requests for Proposals (RFPs) followed by evaluating bids and recommending award of contracts to the City Council. He supervised utility staff in daily operations and oversaw the construction, operation, and maintenance of the substation, ensuring delivery of reliable power at competitive rates. Through this process, Mr. Brar oversaw construction of several substations from the ground up for multiple California municipalities over 20 years.
Following his work in California, Mr. Brar turned his experience to a new location at a shipyard in India.
